Land of Myth Transcript

Note: I am focusing on the dialogue, and as such will not be transcribing the battle objectives and such as they appear in the game. I'm also having a bit of fun with this don't take it too serious.

DRAMATIS PERSONAE

IMPA: General in the Hyrulean Army, Zelda's personal guard, and newly crowned Champion Oblivious.

SHEIK: Really has no reason to continue the charade at this point.

DARUNIA: Goron Chief.

RUTO: Miss Not-Appearing-in-this-Battle.

TRANSCRIPT BEGINNING CUTSCENE

NARRATION: Leading a small force of Hyrulean soldiers, Impa stepped into one of the newly opened portals. The kingdom spread out before her seemed like the Hyrule she knew, yet it was somehow very different. Before long, she realized that they had traveled back to the era of the mythical Hero of Time. Awed, Impa began her search for the Gate of Souls. She sensed an evil presence on Death Mountain and set out for the ominous peak. And with her came the mysterious Sheik...

[Transition to 3D animated cutscene. Impa and Sheik are walking alongside a contingent of Hylian soldiers. Impa looks at Sheik, suspicious.]

IMPA: You could have accompanied either Link or Lana. Why did you choose to follow me?

[Sheik does not answer the question, walking past Impa.]

IMPA: I can't figure you out... How much do you really know of the Sheikah tribe? Tell me. Who is your tribe's leader?

SHEIK: Impa, which would be you.

IMPA: Correct. And yet there is no one named Sheik in my tribe... So then, who does that make you? What are you really after?

[A fairy frantically flies by, approaching Impa and Sheik.]

FAIRY: Hey! Listen! Princess Ruto in in trouble!

[The fairy flies down as Sheik holds out his hands for it.]

SHEIK: Ruto, Princess of the Zoras?

FAIRY: She was abducted by the Gorons! Their leader Darunia used to be such a gentle soul... Someone named Zelda showed up and... he hasn't been the same since!

IMPA, shocked: Zelda? Princess Zelda is here?

SHEIK: Let's go and see with our own eyes.

TRANSCRIPT BATTLE

SHEIK: I'm concerned about our primary mission... But first we have to rescue Princess Ruto.

GORON CAPTAIN: No one can pass through here!

IMPA: They don't look willing to talk... We'll have to force our way through.

GORON CAPTAIN: One more step, and we'll flatten you with great, big boulders!

[Goron Forces begin a boulder attack on the Allied Base.]

SHEIK: We have to stop the falling rocks. Perhaps capturing the Boulder Keeps is a good start...

HYLIAN CAPTAIN: All right! We'll climb the mountain and capture the Boulder Keeps!

SHEIK: I always thought the Gorons were a gentle people...

FAIRY: Darunia, their chief... He was always so kind! But ever since meeting Zelda...

IMPA: He's met with Princess Zelda? Why would that cost him his senses?

[A boulder attack prevents the advance of the Hylian Captains.]

HYLIAN CAPTAIN: Yah! We can't advance with those rocks trying to crush us!

[After opening the Connecting Gate to the Boulder Keeps.]

SHEIK: It may be quicker if we passed through here...

[After capturing one of the East Boulder Keep, Goron Forces begin approaching the West Goron Keep.]

GORON CAPTAIN: We'll grab this keep!

[After the Goron Forces reach the West Boulder Keep, they begin the boulder attack on the Allied Base again.]

SHEIK: If we don't take the Boulder Keeps, our base will be destroyed.

[After capturing both Boulder Keeps, the attacks on the Allied Base stop. Darunia appears on the battlefield.]

IMPA: Wonderful! We've stopped the falling rocks! Our base should be safe for now.

DARUNIA: Who dares attack the noble Gorons?! Whoever you are, prepare to battle a Goron Chieftain!

SHEIK: So Darunia has appeared...? Very well. We must stop his rampage, then.

IMPA: We need him to calm down so we can get some answers... Knock him out!

[After fighting Darunia and damaging him enough, he temporarily retreats to the inaccessible Chief's Room.]

DARUNIA: Not bad. I'll have to withdraw for now, but only so I can strike back twice as hard!

IMPA: Grrr. He got away.

[After a while, Darunia reappears on the battlefield, healed.]

DARUNIA: Snarf... Smack... GULP! Ahh, that's better. I feel my strength returning...

DARUNIA: YEEEEEEES! I'm back to fighting strength! Brothers, we're marching out again!

SHEIK: He looks like he hasn't a scratch on him... Will there be no end to this battle?

IMPA: I wonder how he's replenishing his health... Is his base hiding some secret?

[If one of the Boulder Keeps falls to the Goron Forces.]

SHEIK: If we don't retake that Boulder Keep, and fast, the Allied Base is doomed.

[After a bit, Sheik begins to advance to the West Boulder Keep.]

SHEIK: Allow me to try something. First, I need to get into that keep...

SHEIK: Could you guard that keep? We'll need it intact for my plan to work.

[Goron Forces attack Sheik.]

SHEIK: Don't get in my way!

DARUNIA: Brothers! Show them the strength of the Goron peoples!

[Morale improves for the Goron Forces.]

GORON CAPTAIN: We'll do you proud, Big Bro!

SHEIK: If we leave Darunia to his own devices, he's bound to cause us more trouble...

[After Sheik reaches the Wester Boulder Keep.]

SHEIK: We're ready. My plan begins... now.

[Sheik launches a boulder attack on the Chief's Room, destroying its gate. Darunia temporarily retreats to the Chief's Room.]

GORON CAPTAIN: Hey! What's going on?!

DARUNIA: Aaah! The premium rock sirloin I had hidden in my chambers! It's ruined!

DARUNIA: GRAH! You just got betweeen a rock and a hard place! Gorons! Move out!

GORON CAPTAIN: All right!

IMPA: Darunia won't be able to regain stamina anymore. It's time to take him down!

[All Goron-controlled keeps open. All Goron Forces begin to move toward the Allied Base. Bombchus appear in various Goron Keeps.]

GORON CAPTAIN: Let's blow up their base with a Bombchu!

SHEIK: The famous Goron Bombchu... If we don't stop them, our base is rubble!

IMPA: Somebody must be controlling the Bombchu! We have to find and defeat whoever it is!

[After Big Poes appear in the Chief's Room.]

SHEIK: I feel as if the sorceress is behind this... Could she be controlling the Gorons?

[After defeating a Bombchu Operator and gaining control of the Bombchu.]

IMPA: We've acquired the Bombchu. Now we can take their keep in a single blow!

SHEIK: A Bombchu! Head toward the Goron Keep!

SHEIK: If we use a Bombchu, taking the keep should become vastly simpler.

[After the Bombchu explodes in the Chief's Room and damages it.]

SHEIK: Perfect. Just as we planned...

[After defeating the Big Poes in the Chief's Room, Darunia's power decreases.]

DARUNIA: Whoa, I feel kinda strange...

[After defeating Darunia, the battle ends.]

DARUNIA: Huh? We surrender! We give up!

DARUNIA: I didn't realize what we were doing! Forgive us! Someone was twisting our minds!

SHEIK: Would you mind kindly releasing Princes Ruto?

DARUNIA: Oh! Yeah! Of course! Man, I feel terrible for everything we've been doing...

[Princess Ruto pops in out of thin air.]

RUTO: Well, that was a terrible experience... I am Ruto, princess of the Zoras!

RUTO: You want to know who caused this? I'll explain, but not until we leave this filthy mountain...
