Rewards Map Transcript: Koholint

Note: I am focusing on the dialogue, and as such will not be transcribing the battle objectives and such as they appear in the game. I'm also having a bit of fun with this don't take it too serious.

The Rewards Map unlocks after you find all the skulltulas in an adventure map, thus completing its illustration. In the Rewards Map, you can then play a scenario based on that illustration. In this map, Koholint (represented via a Wind Waker island map) is attacked by Wizzro and his giant monsters. You play with four characters, two of which will be stranded allies at the start of the battle who need to be rescued. These are represented in the transcript by ALLY 1 and ALLY 2. You begin with two playable characters in an area closed off from the rest of the map, including the Allied Base. Marin is the Allied Commander, Wizzro the Enemy Commander.

DRAMATIS PERSONAE

MARIN: Best character in the Zelda franchise, yes I am qualified to decide that, Miyamoto told me so himself.

WIZZRO: Causer of problems.

TRANSCRIPT BATTLE

MARIN: Eek! These monsters...! Is someone gonna take care of them, or do I have to myself?

WIZZRO: Gyahaha! No use calling for help; it's just you and me! ...And my giant monsters!

[Wizzro summons a Gohma.]

MARIN: Ha, giant monsters? I'll tear them to shreds! Uh, I mean... Won't someone help?

WIZZRO: Hmm, more trifles to get in my way... Such a bother, but I'll take them out!

[Wizzro's Forces advance toward ALLY 1]

MARIN: Multiple attacks and even some prisoners taken? Maybe I need backup after all...

MARIN: Capture the keep first! The gate will open, but we'll just block the way ourselves!

[Defense Specialist appears.]

DEFENSE SPECIALIST: Somebody call for reinforcements? We'll handle this one!

[After capturing the keeps, you open the gate and gain access to the rest of the map. A Giant Boss begins advancing to the Allied Base.]

WIZZRO: Gyaha! What fools to open the gate on their own. Now their base is all mine!

WIZZRO: I have more important things to do, so let's get this over quick!

[After defeating Gohma.]

MARIN: Whoa, you sent that monster packing like it was nothing! Got any more in you?

WIZZRO: Pah! Enjoy it while you can! I've still got some aces up my sleeves!

DEFENSE SPECIALIST: Engaging the enemy! Hold this line! Don't let the enemies past!

[After rescuing ALLY 1, forces begin attacking ALLY 2]

WIZZRO: My minion will make short work of you wannabe heroes!

WIZZRO: Is it more-monsters-o'clock yet? Why, I think it is!

[Wizzro summons Argorok.]

[Supply Troops appear with a Magic Jar.]

MARIN: Phew, loooks like we got new allies.

[Defense Specialist appears.]

DEFENSE SPECIALIST: Reporting for duty! We'll take care of those giant monsters!

[A Giant Boss begins advancing to the Allied Base.]

MARIN: Uh-oh, we'd better do something about that big monster...

MIZZRO: Gyahaha! If you like giant monsters, you'll LOVE this!

[Wizzro summons a powerful Helmaroc King]

MARIN: There are even more?! Everyone, please! We have to protect this island!

[Helmaroc King begins advancing to the Allied Base. All of Wizzro's keeps open.]

MARIN: Gah, where'd that giant bird come from?! Can anyone help take it down?!

WIZZRO: That's not just any bird--it's drawing extra power so you've got no chance! Gyahaha!

MARIN: Hmph, someone's boosting its power? I bet they're hiding in the keep!

[After discovering the Rally Captain in one of the keeps.]

WIZZRO: Hmph, they found me? I can't focus on strengthening my monsters like this...

DEFENSE SPECIALIST 1: I don't think we can take this thing on alone... Requesting support!

DEFENSE SPECIALIST 2: Reporting in... The giant monsters are pushing us back! We need support!

[After defeating Rally Captain.]

MARIN: Now's our chance! Let's take that big ol' bird down for good!

[After saving both stranded allies.]

MARIN: I have so many friends backing me up now! I don't need to be afraid!

[After another Supply Troop appears.]

MARIN: All right, more allies for our cause!

WIZZRO: Ugh, I wasn't expecting such resistance... But you still haven't seen the worst of it!

[Wizzro summons Gohma and Phantom Ganon. They begin advancing toward the Allied Base. Big Poes appear and begin advancing toward the Allied Base.]

MARIN: Now we have these small monsters to-- Eek! They look scary up close, too!

[Defense Specialist is in trouble.]

DEFENSE SPECIALIST: Ugh, can't fall back yet... Not until we take out these monsters. We need backup!

[Wizzro's Forces enter the Allied Base.]

MARIN: Monsters in the Allied Base? I'll pulverize 'em! Uh, I mean... Eek! Monsters! Help!

[After Magic Thief appears on the battlefield.]

MARIN: Ack! A thief! Everybody, watch your things!

WIZZRO: Hiya ha! Allow me to join!

[After defeating all Boss Monsters.]

WIZZRO: What?! You wiped out my precious giant monsters! How dare you?!

MARIN: All right! Great job, everyone. You were all so amazing out there!

[After defeating Wizzro, the battle ends.]

MARIN: Phew, thanks for the help!

MARIN: When I saw you were coming to help... I just knew everything would be OK!
