Shining Beacon Transcript

Note: I am focusing on the dialogue, and as such will not be transcribing the battle objectives and such as they appear in the game. There are multiple playable characters in this scenario, and dialogue differs depending on who you choose to play as. For this map, Link is the default character the game recommends you play as. Mostly, the dialogue changes from Link's scenario are minor; the exception is when you play as Zelda or Sheik, in which case Ruto takes over her role as enemy commander. I will transcribe Link and Zelda/Sheik's scenario's in full, and only transcribe differing dialogue for the others. In addition, dialogue may differ slightly depending on how you play the map. I'm also having a bit of fun with this don't take it too serious.

TRANSCRIPT BEGINNING CUTSCENE

NARRATION: Link's brashness nearly cost him his life as shadowy doubles overwhelmed him. At the last moment, Link's allies salvaged a rescue from otherwise certain defeat. The Master Sword is a mighty weapon... but its true power can be used only by someone who understands the bonds of friendship. The Hyrulean army was rallying its strength, but Cia's forces still controlled much of their homeland The only way to save Hyrule was to defeat Cia. The Hyrulean Army headed to the Valley of Seers to force a decisive battle. But Cia did not sit idle, despite her overwhelming advantage. She found new ways to fortify her troops using her own life force. The cost to herself was irrelvant, so long as she crushed her enemies. The final battle between the armies of light and darkness was about to unfold.

ZELDA: We have entered the Valley of Seers, but our forces are split between east and west.

CIA: The darkness courses through my veins... The Hyrulean Forces are but playthings to me!

LANA: The sanctums have been taken over, locking their power away! That's the monsters' secret!

ZELDA: If we make for the sanctum, we can take back the sacred power!

IMPA: By the end of this battle, Cia will be no more... May we bring glory to Hyrule!

CIA: It's cute how you all believe you can defeat me... But I won't find it cute much longer!

[Dark Forces begin advancing toward Zelda.]

PROXI: Oh no! The enemy is going after Princess Zelda!

[A short cutscene appears, showing the West and East Sanctum keeps, with a pillar of soft light in the middle.]

ZELDA: Do you see from where the evil power rises? A sanctum must be located there.

[Fi begins advancing toward the West Sanctum.]

FI: I can confirm sanctums in the east and the west. Shall we attack the nearest?

[After some time passes, Cia will send out powerful units toward Fi.]

CIA: Are you getting bored? Let me help with that! Second unit, advance!

[Next, Cia will send powerful units toward Zelda.]

CIA: Still not satisfied? I've given this next batch of troops a bit of... an enhancement.

PROXI: A powerful regiment is heading toward Princess Zelda! We have to protect her!

[Next, Cia will once again send powerful units toward Fi.]

CIA: This next batch is simply to DIE for! I hope you don't mind that I made it extra strong!

[After capturing the West Sanctum.]

FI: Master, the West Sanctum has been captured. Proceed to the East Sanctum.

[If the East Sanctum falls after capturing it, but before capturing the West Sanctum.]

ZELDA: The East Sanctum is under enemy control! We must reclaim it immediately!

[If the West Sanctum falls after capturing it, before capturing the East Sanctum.]

ZELDA: The enemy has taken the West Sanctum! We must reclaim it!

[After capturing both sanctums.]

ZELDA: Both the West and the East Sanctums have been captured, but a Dark Power persists.

LANA: Don't lose your focus -- there's supposed to be one more sanctum out there!

PROXI: Lana, where is the other sanctum? Can you remember?

LANA: There are three sanctums. One in the east, one in the west, and... Right! Head south!

[If Lana discovers the South Sanctum.]

LANA: I was RIGHT! Everyone, the final sanctum's right here!

[If someone else discovers the South Sanctum.]

ZELDA: You found the sanctum! Phew. That is a wonderful relief.

[After capturing all sanctums, the Dark Forces suffer a loss of morale and their power diminishes.]

ZELDA: We have broken the sanctum's seal and diminished the enemy's power!

CIA: So you managed to retake all three sanctums? Hmmm. I don't think I like surprises.

[A cutscene plays. Cia is focusing her power on a crystal ball, which explodes.]

CIA: Uaaahhh!

[Cia attempts to recover from the shock, obviously furious, visibly having trouble holding herself together.]

CIA: Allow me... to teach you a lesson!

[Cia begins to cast a powerful spell, purple and red smoke rising around her. Purple orbs, looking very similar to the red orbs that were Ganondorf's soul, appear next to her.]

CIA: Hnnnnn....!

[With a cry, Cia releases the spell, sending the purple orbs flying away from her in a flurry of red and purple lightning. The camera cuts to Lana, watching in shock as Cia's purple soul orbs fly overhead and explode into a Gate of Soul. The camera lingers on Lana's devastated expression, before zooming out to show the show of dark magic above Cia's stronghold.]

LANA: Cia! Stop! Your spirit can't take much more of this!

[The camera cuts back to Cia, who turns to the camera with a smug smile, quickly morphing into an utterly deranged expression as she laughs. The cutscene ends.]

LANA: Cia -- this is your work, isn't it?!

ZELDA: Her soul has been corrupted... And all just to pursue ultimate power...

[The Fairy Fountain opens. Zelda begins heading toward the Fairy Fountain. Powerful enemy troops begin heading toward Zelda.]

GREAT FAIRY: Zelda, the time to awaken my power is upon us! Come to me!

ZELDA: The Great Fairy has summoned me! I must hurry to the Fairy Fountain!

CIA: I'll lend you some of my magic. So hurry and stop them from advancing!

LANA: Looks like the enemy has gained strength again. But I won't lose!

ZELDA: We must draw as many enemies as possible to the area north of the fountain!

ZELDA: I shall use the Magic Circle to defeat the enemies in one powerful sweep!

DARUNIA: I can draw the enemies over from the east!

ZELDA: We must draw in the enemies from the west as well!

LANA: Fairy Fountain, got it. I'm on my way!

IMPA: Princess Zelda, it's dangerous to go alone. Take me!

[Impa is escorting Zelda.]

MIDNA: I should probably tag along. You're less likely to get into trouble if I'm there.

[Midna is advancing toward the Fairy Fountain.]

CIA: Volga, would you like a taste of my power? You can borrow it if you promise to play nice!

VOLGA: Urg... Gyaaarh!

[Volga is strengthened by Dark Power and begins advancing toward Zelda.]

HYLIAN CAPTAIN: Wh-what? S-something's not right about this guy! I've never felt power like this before!

IMPA: Careful. The dragon knight's power has grown considerably.

[After Dark Forces receive reinforcements north of the Fairy Fountain.]

IMPA: I will handle the enemy reinforcements -- we can't let them find the Magic Circle!

MIDNA: I will handle the enemy reinforcements to us!

[If you defeat Volga before activating the Magic Circle, he'll temporarily retreat, before Cia powers him up again and he returns to the battlefield.]

CIA: My power is flowing like blood from a wound... Volga, use it and make yourself useful!

VOLGA: Graagh! This power... is never ending! I... am... INVINCIBLE!

LANA: Every time we kill him, he just keeps getting back up! How are we supposed to stop him?!

[After Zelda reaches the Fairy Fountain, she activates the Magic Circle.]

ZELDA: Now! Use the Magic Circle!

[After using the Magic Circle, a cutscene plays the Great Fairy appears from the fountain and beckons you. She sends out a flock of fairies, who form a glowing Triforce symbol against the sky, which turns into Hyrule's national emblem. From it, light rains down and devastates the enemy forces.]

[If you successfully managed to lure the specified enemy troops to the area in front of the Magic Circle, the Dark Forces will suffer heavy casualties due to the Magic Circle and lose morale.]

CIA: Impressive... But not the most impressive thing I've ever seen.

CIA: Ha! Why are you acting so miserable? Put those Hyrulean fools in their place!

[If you didn't manage to lure the specified enemy troops into the area in front of the Magic Circle, the Dark Forces will only suffer some casualties, and gain morale.]

CIA: Ha! Is that your idea of magic? What a pity it was so... underwhelming!

[Either way, Volga will recover lost HP and power up again using Dark Power.]

VOLGA: Ruarrrgh! Prepare to meet your fate!

[Volga advances and begins fighting with Zelda.]

ZELDA: Can you really take pleasure from resorting to dark magic to win your battles?

VOLGA: Haaaa... Don't mock me!

ZELDA: Open your eyes! I believed you to be proud dragon warrior, not a sellsword for darkness!

VOLGA: No.. NO! I won't be ruled by darkness!

[Volga pushes the Dark Power from himself and returns to regular power. He begins advancing toward Link.]

VOLGA: This battle is nearly at an end... Now let me show you how a true warrior finishes a fight!

[After defeating Volga, he leaves the battlefield.]

VOLGA: I lose, but I do so without regrets...

CIA: Volga lost? Well of course he did... I'm surrounded by failures!

[The Ruins Front Gate opens, granting access to Cia's stronghold.]

CIA: Let go if your inhibitions! Don't let a single one of them survive!

CIA: Hnnn--! You... will... DIE!

[Cia uses the power of darkness to divide into four copies of herself.]

LANA: Cia... No more... Please...

ZELDA: Cia is the final challenge standing in our way. You must finish her off!

IMPA: Leave the base's defense to me. Cia is your responsibility!

MIDNA: Don't die out there... If you do, I won't talk to you anymore!

CIA: A-ha-ha! Just wait. I'll entertain you even more!

CIA: Do you really think you can defeat me? Mwha ha ha! Why don't you disappear!

LANA: Finish this once and for all!

[After defeating one of Cia's clones.]

MIDNA: All right! One of Cia's doubles is down!

CIA: Heh... So one of my doubles has disappeared. It's nothing!

[After defeating two of Cia's clones.]

FI: Confirmed that the second double of Cia has been defeated.

CIA: Kiyaaaa! Bothersome fools!

[After defeating three of Cia's clones.]

CIA: Stop your insolent foolishness! I'll never forgive this! All of you are done for!

LANA: Cia... I'll finish you myself!

[After defeating all four Cia's, the battle ends.]

CIA: Lana... I thought this is what you wanted.

LANA: Cia...

[The Fairy Fountain opens. Ruto begins heading toward the Fairy Fountain.]

GREAT FAIRY: Ruto... The time to use my power is at hand... Come to me!

RUTO: Great Fairy? Is that you? Everyone, I have to head to the Fairy Fountain!

[Powerful troops begin advancing toward Ruto.]

CIA: I'll lend you some of my magic. So hurry and stop them from advancing!

LANA: Looks like the enemy has gained strength again. But I won't lose!

RUTO: Also, we have to draw as many enemies to the area north of the fountain as possible!

RUTO: I'll use this fountain's Magic Circle to destroy them all in one big attack!

DARUNIA: I can draw the enemies over from the east!

RUTO: And I can draw the enemies from the west!

LANA: Fairy Fountain, got it. I'm on my way!

[Impa still moves to escort Ruto, but doesn't have dialogue.]

MIDNA: I should probably tag along. You're less likely to get into trouble if I'm there.

[Midna is advancing toward the Fairy Fountain.]

CIA: Volga, would you like a taste of my power? You can borrow it if you promise to play nice!

VOLGA: Urg... Gyaaarh!

VOLGA: This battle is nearly at an end... Now let me show you how a true warrior finishes a fight!

[After defeating Volga, he leaves the battlefield.]

VOLGA: I lose, but I do so without regrets...

CIA: Volga lost? Well of course he did... I'm surrounded by failures!

[After the Great Fairy calls Zelda to the Fairy Fountain and she begins to advance.]

IMPA: Princess Zelda, it's dangerous to go alone. Take me!

[Impa is escorting Zelda.]

RUTO: I wouldn't suggest going alone. Let me come with you just in case!

[Ruto begins advancing toward the Fairy Fountain.]

[After the enemy forces receive reinforcements north of the Fairy Fountain.]

IMPA: I will handle the enemy reinforcements -- we can't let them find the magic circle!

RUTO: Leave the enemy reinforcements to me! I can handle them, no problem!

[After Cia divides into four doubles.]

LANA: Cia... No more... Please...

ZELDA: Cia is the final challenge standing in our way. You must finish her off!

IMPA: Leave the base's defense to me. Cia is your responsibility!

RUTO: Hey... come back alive, OK?

CIA: A-ha-ha! Just wait. I'll entertain you even more!

CIA: Do you really think you can defeat me? Mwha ha ha! Why don't you disappear!

RUTO: You can't go off on your own! Not now! Let me come too!

[After Volga appears on the battlefield.]

HYLIAN CAPTAIN: Wh-what? S-something's not right about this guy! I've never felt power like this before!

RUTO: Watch out for that dragon knight! He's not going to be a pushover!

[After the enemy forces receive reinforcements north of the Fairy Fountain.]

RUTO: I'll stop the enemy reinforcements! They won't get anywhere near the fountain's Magic Circle!

MIDNA: Leave the enemy reinforcements to us!

[After Cia divides into four copies.]

LANA: Cia... No more... Please...

ZELDA: Cia is the final challenge standing in our way. You must finish her off!

RUTO: Leave the scraps to me. You have more important foes to deal with!

MIDNA: Don't die out there... If you do, I won't talk to you anymore!

CIA: A-ha-ha! Just wait. I'll entertain you even more!

CIA: Do you really think you can defeat me? Mwha ha ha! Why don't you disappear!

[After Zelda informs the others about the sanctums, Ruto begins advancing toward the West Sanctum.]

RUTO: There are sanctums in the east and the west. Capture the sanctum closest to you!

TRANSCRIPT ENDING CUTSCENE

[A 3D animated cutscene plays. Cia lays on the ground, defeated. Lana rushes over to her and takes her into her arms, as Zelda and Link watch. Lana looks at Cia with anguish, as Cia weakly turns her head to look at her.]

LANA: Cia...

CIA: We've seen how this ends... and we both know he doesn't choose you. How do you do it... knowing you get left behind?

[Lana looks over her shoulder to Link and Zelda, who still watch her. She turns back to Cia.

LANA: You don't always get the person you think you deserve... and I can live with that.

[Cia smiles fondly at Lana.]

CIA: You always were... my better half...

[Cia begins to fade as Lana watches, panicked. Cia disappears and Lana is left holding nothing, with an expression of grief. A small light begins to float before her, forming into the Triforce of Power. Lana takes it into her hand, then bubbles it and takes it with a determined expression. She holds it against her heart. The camera lingers on her back, when he suddenly turns around with a smile.]

[The scene transitions to show all the heroes out of time lined up, Link, Impa, Zelda, and Lana standing before them. Agitha and Midna stand togehter, Darunia holds Ruto on his shoulder, and Fi stands alone. Lana throws her book up in the air, catching it and landing to create a portal of light, which creates three other portals behind the different heroes out of time.]

MIDNA: Well, that's that! See you next crisis!

[Link, Zelda, Lana, and Impa watch as all the heroes return home.]

ZELDA: Let's put hyrule back in order.

[Link, Zelda, and Lana hold out their hands, their respective pieces of the Triforce combining into one. It flies into the air and emits a bright light, undoing all the changes Cia did to the start of the game, restoring Hyrule and closing the portals. After, the Triforce splits into pieces again, each returning to their respective owner. Impa awkwardly watches all this as a fourth wheel.]

LANA: There. Things should be as they were.

LANA: And with that, I should go...

[Lana begins to walk away. Zelda calls after her with a smile.]

ZELDA: Lana.. Will we meet again?

[Lana looks conflicted, mostly sad, and walks away.]

LANA: ...Good-bye.

[The camera lingers on Link and Zelda, who looks shocked and sad. Lana stands before Cia's final portal and closes it, leaving Lana alone in the Valley of Seers. Lana closes her eyes with a sad expression. Behind her, a bird flies into the sky.]

[The scene transitions to show Impa and Zelda standing in Zelda's bedroom, pushing open the balcony doors to a bright and shining day, a bird perching on the railing of the balcony. Impa and Zelda look out over the land with wonder, and Zelda begins peacefully playing the harp as the bird flies away once more.]

[The scene transitions to show Link walking amidst a line of cheering, adoring Hyrulean soldiers. He turns to look up to the castle towers, the camera focusing on the raised flag of Hyrule, waving in the wind.]

[The scene transitions once more. Dark smoke is oozing out of the empty pedestal where the Master Sword used to sit, crawling toward the coffin sealing a fragment of Ganondorf's soul, breaking the chains. The soul orb floats out and unites with the three other freed orbs to form Ganondorf, appearing in a puff of smoke. He laughs, birght orange magic wafting off of him as he once more disappears into ominous black smoke.]
