TRANSCRIPT BEGINNING CUTSCENES
[A 3D animated cutscene plays. Princess Zelda plays Zelda's Lullaby on a harp in a field of grass, looking peaceful. Suddenly, the scene turns dark, and she looks to see an encroaching mass of darkness coming her way. Shocked and scared, she drops the harp and runs away. The harp is swallowed up by the advancing darkness. Eventually, so is Zelda. She startles awake, sitting up in her bed. Impa looks over to her.]
ZELDA: Impa... the same nightmare keeps haunting me...
IMPA: An omen, perhaps, of dark times ahead for Hyrule...
ZELDA, looking to Impa, scared: Dark times...?
IMPA: If that is indeed true, we must locate... him...
[Impa looks toward a small table besides Zelda's bed. On it lays a green tunic, sunlight falling on it. The camera pans out, showing Impa and Zelda looking out of the window.]
IMPA: We must find the reborn spirit of the hero.
[The scene transitions. Zelda is now dressed in full battle regalia. She and Impa walk among the ramparts as troops train below.]
IMPA: We will find no fully realized heroes here... We'd be wiser looking elsewhere.
[Zelda startles, running a short ways away and looking down toward the training field. A sparring match is taking place between a generic soldier model and one with bright blonde hair and no helmet; Link. The generic soldier rushes Link, who deflects the blow and retaliates with a jumping strike, knocking the soldier down. He dramatically seathes his sword. Zelda looks down at him in wonderment. Link looks up and meets her gaze, staring with just as much amazement. The moment ends as a soldier comes running up to Impa and Zelda. He kneels before Zelda, breathing heavy.]
SOLDIER: Your highness! A horde of monsters is marching toward Hyrule Castle!
ZELDA: Impa, prepare the troops for battle!
[Link and the other trainees watch from below. Some of the other trainees begin to gossip.]
TRAINEE: Whoa, isn't that the princess?
TRAINEE (a different one): What's she wasting her time with us for?
[Link watches as Zelda and Impa hurriedly walk away. The scene transitions to show Impa, standing tall before a group of Hylian Soldiers. Zelda appears at her side, holding a rapier. From Hyrule Field, a dark horde of monsters walks toward them, led by Volga and the Dark Wizard. Once again, the scene changes, showing Link walking along the training grounds, a few trainees talking amongst themselves.]
TRAINEE: So... I guess we just wait to hear what happened?
[They notice Link.]
TRAINEE: Hey, Link! What d'you think you're doing with that sword?!
[The camera shows Link has a sword strapped to his back. Link draws it and runs past the other trainees, toward the gate and onto the battlefield. The cutscene ends.]
[A new cutscene plays, showing a flat scene with moving character portrait PNGs, accomanpied by narration.]
NARRATION: Hordes of monsters began laying siege to the Kingdom of Hyrule. Princess Zelda led a valiant defence against hopeless odds. News of the Hyrulean army's imminent defeat reached the cadets at the knights' training yard. As the elite troops fell in battle, Hyrule's trainees were left to wait helplessly inside the castle walls. Despite the odds, one young knight took up his simple training sword and chose to fight. This brave young man was named Link. Compelled to act, he rushed to the monster-ridden battlefield to assist Zelda and defend Hyrule.

TRANSCRIPT BATTLE
[Scene: Impa and Link are separated from Zelda by closed keeps, obstructed by rocks.]
IMPA: Where did all these monsters come from?
IMPA: We can't get to Princess Zelda with those boulders in the way!
[Link is noticed by Impa.]
IMPA: What's this? A new recruit?
IMPA: Who is this soldier, anyway?
PROXI: Someone! Help! I'm too little to fight monsters!
[A short cutscene plays. Proxi spots Link, flies toward him and enters his chest, with Link looking surprised.]
PROXI: Thanks! I'm Proxi! And who are you?
PROXI: Link, huh? Unusual name! What's it mean? Where are you from? Nice sword!
PROXI: Man of few words, huh? That's okay--I'll come along and do the talking!
[Dark Forces have surrounded Zelda.]
ZELDA: Hold your ground, everyone! We are the only ones who can protect Hyrule!
PROXI: Keep fighting, Princess! We're coming to help!
DARK WIZARD: Hiya ha ha! Keep attacking!
[Abandoned Fort keep opens. Volga is waiting inside. After depleting half of his health bar, a cutscene plays. Volga faces Link.]
VOLGA: Get out of my way, boy.
[He transforms his fist into a flaming claw, attacking Link and knocking him back. Impa appears, coming to stand in between Volga and Link, shielding him.]
VOLGA: How noble. Enjoy your shared grave.
[Volga powesr up, flames beginning to rise from his body. Impa looks from him to Link, frantic.]
IMPA: Oh no...
[Volga attacks with fire and Impa braces herself, attempting to shield Link. She and Link are engulved by flames. Volga sees this, smirks, and begins to turn away. He turns back in shock as a bright light begins to glow, and sees Link standing before Impa, a Triforce mark glowing bright on his hand. Impa looks up at him in wonderment.]
IMPA: Could you be...?
[Cutscene ends. Fight with Volga starts.]
VOLGA: If you're ready to join your ancestors, then I accept your challenge!
IMPA: Don't let the dragon knight through!
[After defeating Volga, he leaves the battlefield.]
VOLGA: You haven't beaten me. You've only hidden behind your shields, human and otherwise.
DARK WIZARD: Is Volga slacking off again? Fine! Send out the next unit!
[Abandoned Fort opens fully. Lizalfos are attacking the Goron Captains.]
GORON CAPTAIN: We can't hold them anymore! Somebody, help!
[After defeating Lizalfos.]
GORON CAPTAIN: Thanks a ton! Hey, you should take the treasure in that mine as a reward!
[In the mine, a chest appears with bombs. A short cutscene plays, showing a couple bokoblins blocking the entrance to the mine with boulders, dancing happily.]
IMPA: With those bombs, we can break the boulders and join up with Princess Zelda!
ZELDA: Capture the West Field Keep! This will let us reconvene with our allies. Hurry!
[You can now play as Zelda. As Zelda, capture the West Field Keep. As Link, blow up the boulders blocking the path toward it. This allows Link and Zelda to meet up.]
PROXI: Link, look! The princess!
ZELDA: You! I saw you in the training yard!
[The Central Keep and South West Bridge Gate open. Dark Forces receive reinforcements from the north, pouring toward the Castle Keep in the south.]
DARK WIZARD: Attack! Destroy! Massacre! Kill the royal whelp before I grow impatient!
ZELDA: Capture both the Central and East Field Keeps, and close their gates!
HYLIAN CAPTAIN: Leave the East Keep to us! Someone take the central one!
[A Guard Troop appears and advances toward the West Rockface Keep.]
ZELDA: We must not let the enemy fortify their hold on that keep. Hurry! Take it at once!
[After taking the Central Keep, its northern gate closes.]
ZELDA: Wonderful! Now take the East Field Keep!
[After taking the East Field Keep, its northern gate closes.]
ZELDA: We have forced the invaders into the north! Now we must call upon the Great Fairy!
ZELDA: I must put our plan in motion. Soldiers in training! Follow me to the fairy fountain!
DARK WIZARD: Move! Invade Hyrule Castle from the northern gate! They'll never expect it!
ZELDA: We must seal the northern gate to stop the dark forces from getting to the castle!
IMPA: Leave this task to me!
[You can now play as Impa.]
[After reaching the Fairy Fountain as Link and Zelda.]
ZELDA: Our preparations are complete. Hurry and seal off the northern gates!
[After defeating the advancing Dark Forces as Impa.]
IMPA: The enemy has fallen! Seal off the Rockface Chekcpoint!
[The northern gate closes, cutting off the Dark Forces' access to the south.]
ZELDA: Great Fairy! Hear our plea!
IMPA: Please, Princess Zelda, you must pull back. We can manage the battle from here.
ZELDA: I understand. May the goddesses protect you!
[Zelda charges a magic circle and leaves the battlefield. After using the Magic Circle, a short cutscene plays. A Great Fairy appears, takes bombs from the allied forces, and forges them into one gigantic bomb that wipes out a large number of enemy troops. Hyrulean Forces gain morale.]
IMPA: We've done it! The enemy has suffered a devastating hit!
HYLIAN CAPTAIN: Great! Now we can counterattack!
DARK WIZARD: Hiya ha ha! This is where it gets interesting! Unleash King Dodongo!
[King Dodongo's entrance cutscene plays. He appears at the North Square and starts advancing to the Castle Keep.]
IMPA: How did the wizard transport a creature of that size to the battlefield so quickly?!
DARK WIZARD, thinking: Yes, enjoy your time with the king... I have an appointment elsewhere!
[Dark Wizard leaves the battlefield. King Dodongo attacks the Central Keep. Another short cutscene plays, showing it breaking through the closed northern gate.]
IMPA: I'll lend a hand! If we strike as one, that creature will surely fall!
HYLIAN SOLDIER: L-let's do what we can to stop it!
[After defeating King Dodongo, the battle ends.]
IMPA: Well fought, troops. This is why we never give up.
HYLIAN SOLDIER: General Impa, terrible news! The enemy wizard has seized the castle!
IMPA: So, the beast was just a distraction... Where is Princess Zelda? Is she safe?
HYLIAN SOLDIER: We... we can't find her anywhere!
IMPA: What?! That's impossible!

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT ENDING CUTSCENES
[A 3D animated cutscene plays. Link runs toward the Castle Keep, and is accosted by bokoblins. Impa appears and defeats them. She turns to talk to Link.]
IMPA: We can't locate Princess Zelda. I pray she's safe...
IMPA: I must ask for your help in finding her. I trust you are willing?
[Impa hands Link the green hero's tunic seen in the first opening cutscene.]
IMPA: Link, be a hero worthy of wearing this tunic.
[Link looks up at her, shocked, then steels himself and nods with determination. The cutscene ends.]
[Another 3D cutscene begins. The Triforce appears, its different pieces forming itself into one, shining.]
NARRATION: The Triforce is the harmonious union of Power, Wisdom and Courage. It has been the object of countless battles between the forces of light and darkness.
[A black mass appears, swallowing the Triforce. From it, two bright lights gleam like eyes.]
NARRATION: Each time the Triforce fell into the clutches of evil, Hyrule was plunged into misery. But in every age, a hero clad in green would restore peace to the land.
[A silhouette of Link appears, a bright green light behind him, vanquishing the darkness. The scene transitions to show a red glowing orb. It splits into four.]
NARRATION: During one of those dark times, the legendary hero split the spirit of evil into four fragments... sealing each away to finally break the cycle of destruction.
[The four orbs fly away. Three are sealed in stone coffins, locked with heavy chains. The three rooms in which they are locked are shown, indicating they are in the Water Temple from Ocarina of Time, the Temple of Hylia from Skyward Sword, and the Palace of Twilight from Twilight Princess.]
NARRATION: Three of the fragments were scattered across time and space.]
[A lush, green temple appears, with one such coffins in the back. Before it, the Master Sword sits in its pedestal.]
NARRATION: The final fragment was sealed in a sacred temple built upon holy ground, imprisoned by the blade of evil's bane.
[The camera lingers on the Master Sword, gleaming in the sunlight. The cutscene ends.]
