The Sorceress of the Valley Transcript

Note: I am focusing on the dialogue, and as such will not be transcribing the battle objectives and such as they appear in the game. I'm also having a bit of fun with this don't take it too serious.

DRAMATIS PERSONAE

LINK: The legendary hero.

IMPA: General in the Hyrulean Army and personal guard of Princess Zelda.

SHEIK: Recently acquired ally. Attempting to be as suspicious as possible.

LANA: Doing a much better job than Sheik at hiding her secrets.

PROXI: Fairy. Speaks for Link.

VOLGA: Guy who took gym class way too seriously.

CIA: The USA's Central Intelligence Bureau, one of the world's foremost perpetrators of war crimes.

TRANSCRIPT BEGINNING CUTSCENE

The leader of the resistance in Faron Woods was a young sorceress named Lana. She was of the same clan as Cia, who had summoned the monsters to Hyrule. Lana had been fighting Cia's army since it arrived. Cia now sought to complete the Triforce and use it to conquer Hyrule. Link and Impa decided to join forces with Lana to prevent further tragedy.

Although the monsters of Faron Woods had been defeated, Cia still controlled most of Hyrule. Every day more creatures appeared and swarmed the land. Link and Impa fought on against the darkness, sorely missing Zelda's leadership. Only one solution remained--stem the tide of monsters by closing the Gate of Souls. The heroes headed to the Valley of Seers to put an end to the bloodshed.

TRANSCRIPT BATTLE

CIA: Ooh, has the hero come to see me at last? Well then, Link, don't keep me waiting...

LANA: Cia's at the top of ruins. Let's take her out and stop her from summoning more monsters!

SHEIK: If we capture the ruin keeps, it will provide a foothold against the Enemy Base.

LANA: Good idea! We might also have better success if we split into two groups. Who's with me?

SHEIK: Impa and I will attack from the east. That leaves the west to you two!

IMPA (thinking): Can Sheik really be trusted...?

IMPA: Sheik, my apologies, but I feel I'd be better used elsewhere. You're on your own.

[Impa changes route and begins battling with Volga.]

VOLGA: Worthless... These vermin will barely qualify as excercise!

HYLIAN CAPTAIN: That dragon knight has appeared! We're not going to last long against his strength!

SHEIK: Such strength... you'll need my help with this.

[Sheik becomes playable.]

LIZALFOS CHIEFTAIN: Protect Masssster Volga!

DINALFOS CHIEFTAIN: Desssstroy humansssss!

VOLGA: Your presence is no longer required here. Go, protect our mistress.

[Assault Troops appear.]

LANA: Enemies are coming from the west! We can't let them enter our base!

[After capturing the West Keep.]

PROXI: Good going! The western keep is ours!

PROXI: I hope we can take the eastern keep just as quickly!

[Impa is fighting a losing battle with Volga.]

IMPA: He's fighting hard. We'll have to fight harder.

VOLGA: Pah. You're no fun. Don't you have a stronger warrior for me to duel?

[Impa loses health and enters distress.]

IMPA: I regret to say I need help.

[Impa is rescued.]

IMPA: Thanks for your assistance.

[After defeating Volga.]

CIA: Why don't you cool down? It's embarrassing to see you talk so big and perform so poorly.

VOLGA: I was careless... Next time it won't end like this.

[Volga flees from the battlefield.]

IMPA: It's time to strike!

[After stopping the Assault Troops from invading the Allied Base.]

LANA: Yes! Our base is safe and secure!

[After capturing the East Keep.]

SHEIK: The keep in the east is ours. This is excellent news.

PROXI: Great work, everyone! Now we can attack the ruins without further delay!

PROXI: The entrance to the ruins is blocked by these weird vines! I think we're stuck...

CIA: Come now! I don't like people dawdling at my doorstep! You want a welcoming party? Fine!

[Dark Forces advance.]

LANA: The front's blocked. We need another way. Maybe we can lower the bridge in the east!

[An Engineer appears in the Allied Base.]

ENGINEER: I'm from the Hyrulean Engineering Corps! Bridges are my specialty!

PROXI: The Engineer is moving out from the Allied Base! Escort him to the East Ruins!

CIA: What are you planning...? Well, whatever it may be, I'll have a counterstrategy!

IMPA: Be watchful. There are mosnters headed for our Engineer.

[West Temple Gate opens.]

CIA: Why do you make me wait? Fine! I'll just have to come knocking at your base!

[Dark Forces begin to advance toward the Allied Base. Sheik advances to attack them from the west.]

SHEIK: I'll take care of the enemies in the west. Use that time to get that bridge down!

IMPA (thinking): Why go that far...?

IMPA: In that case, I'll hold the center.

[After successfully escorting the Engineer and lowering the bridge.]

ENGINEER: Hyrulean Engineering Corps here! The bridge is down! I'm withdrawing!

PROXI: Great work! Let's cross the bridge into the ruins!

PROXI: Cia is at the summit! Let's go!

PROXI: We've got vines blocking the summit path as well!

LANA: I've heard tell of some sort of item in the ruins that can help. We have to find it!

[Skilled Summoner appears.]

CIA: He thinks he can summon a powerful beast? Ha ha ha! How quaint!

CIA: Now, my scaly darlings! Crush those fools in front of the ruins! Mwa ha ha!

[Lizalfos Chieftain and Dinalfos Chieftain attack.]

LIZALFOS CHIEFTAIN: Kya! Show our strength! Now you DIE!

DINOLFOS CHIEFTAIN: Gya! Punish you! For Master Volga!

IMPA: The enemy remains... Hurry, secure the area in front of the ruins!

[Impa becomes playable.]

SHEIK: We have to eleinate the enemies in the rear before we can face Cia head-on.

[Upon defeating Dinolfos Chieftain.]

DINOLFOS CHIEFTAIN: Gyah! Humans, strong!

[Upon defeating Lizalfos Chieftain.]

LIZALFOS CHIEFTAIN: Grah! Trouble! Help meeee!

[Upon defeating both Dinolfos and Lizalfos Chieftain.]

LIZALFOS CHIEFTAIN: No... can.... win... Fleeeeeee!

DINOLFOS CHIEFTAIN: Humansssss! They too ssssstrong! Retreatssssss!

[Dark Forces receive reinforcements.]

CIA: It's bad manners not to greet your guests.

[After finding the Boomerang.]

PROXI: Hey! Listen! With that boomerang, I bet we'd be able to cut down those vines, no problem!

[The Ruins Summit gate opens.]

CIA: Don't leave me waiting. I'll even leave the front door open for you!

[After reaching Cia, a cutscene begins. Cia stands before the Gate of Souls, summoning monsters. The Triforce mark on her hand begins to glow; she sees this.]

Cia: Oh?

[She turns around, facing Link.]

CIA: Ah, Link, the great hero... Let me get a good look at you...

[Cia summons her piece of the Triforce into the world. It pulses with golden light.]

CIA: The Triforce is resonating so powerfully...

[Sheik comes to stand next to Link.]

SHEIK: Link.

[Cia waves the Triforce in the between of Link and Sheik, watching it react as it comes closer to both of them. She looks pleased.]

Cia: Two... Ah, I see... That's certainly welcome news...

[Cia turns on her heel, once again facing the Gate of Souls. She raises her hands.]

CIA: Come forth, servant!

[Cutscene ends.]

[Manhandla appears and mounts a seed attack on the Allied Base.]

PROXI: The Allied Base is under attack. Quick, take care of that thing!

LANA: I have an idea! Everyone gather around the threat!

LANA: I'll use my magic to pool together everyone's strength. We'll be unstoppable!

LANA: Wow, it's amazing what sort of magic I can tap into when I'm in the Valley of Seers!

PROXI: Wait until that monster is exposed, and then hit it with your boomerang!

[After attacking Manhandla for some time, it retreats underground. Manhandla Stalks appear in multiple locations.]

PROXI: That monster is still alive! It may have fled underground, but I just know it'll be back!

LANA: Keep calm! If you hit the correct stalk, the body should pop back out!

IMPA: What is this, hide-and-seek? Grrr...

SHEIK: Fine. I'll attack the nearest visible part of the monster!

[After defeating an incorrect Manhandla Stalk.]

PROXI: Ah, what a shame! That was only a small part of the creature...

[After discovering Manhandla.]

LANA: It won't escape this time! We've got it right where we want it!

[After defeating Manhandla, the battle ends.]

PROXI: We won, thanks to Lana's magic! Let's haed up to that altar and knock Cia out!

LANA: Heh, pooling everyone's strength together is a pretty useful strategy. I'd better remember that.

END TRANSCRIPT BATTLE

TRANSCRIPT ENDING CUTSCENE

[3D Animated cutscene starts. Link, Sheik, Lana, and Impa appear once again at the Ruins Summit, facing Cia before the Gate of Souls. They nod at each other, and Link begins to take a step forward. As he does, though, a magic array appears beneath the group. Lana reacts quickly, jumping out of it, but the others don't. Link's Triforce mark begins to glow, and so does Sheik's. Impa and Lana look at Sheik in shock.]

LANA: Sheik! That's--!

[Their pieces of the Triforce fly out of their hands and toward Cia, who catches them.]

CIA: Ha ha ha... How nice of you to bring me the Triforce of Wisdom as well!

[Cia walks forward, and the magic array disappears. Lana runs up to stand with the rest of the group. Cia summons all three Triforce pieces, admiring them.]

CIA: That means I have all three pieces...

[Cia goes to combine the Triforce.]

CIA: Behold... The awesome majesty of the completed Triforce!

LANA: No! Link, run!

[Lana, Link, Impa and Sheik all begin to run away. The camera focuses on Cia's face.]

???: Cia... The time to call the fragments of my spirit is NOW.

Cia: Yes... I can feel them seeking me out...

CIA: Haaaaaaaahhh!

[Cia summons a massive blast of purple energy around herself. She fades out, and we fade in on a scene of Lana, Link, Impa, and Sheik running. From the direction of the Ruins Summit, a massive blast of purple energy is summonned, similar to a nuclear blast. It rolls forward, changing the landscape as it goes. Our group of heroes stops running and looks at the magic in fear.]

LANA: Everyone, gather around me!

[Lana throws her book in the air and jumps after it, gathering light into her hand. She lands and slams the light into the ground, creating a barrier around the group right as Cia's magical blast reaches them. Lana's barrier protects the group, and they watch as the landscape around them changes. In the sky, a portal opens, showing Skyloft. The rolling fields of Hyrule are replaced by the volcano of Ocarina of Time's Death Mountain. In another place, the fort in Hyrule Field from Twilight Princess appears. We see the changed landscapes next to each other in a wide shot, before returning to Cia. She's still summoning her magic, but she seems more unsteady now. She grunts in pain.]

???: Gate of Souls.. hear my voice... and open! My spirit will be freed!

[Purple magic around Cia seems to be controlling her, as she unsteadily raises her arms and summons a powerful blast of glowing purple magic, sending it through a portal in the clouds.]

CIA: Ah!

[The magic beam splits in three, aiming for three different realms. One heads for Skyward Sword's Gate of Time in the Sealed Grounds, one heads for Twilight Princess's Twilight Realm's throne room, and a third heads for a temple in Ocarina of Time. All three land in front of a sealed stone chest, and open Gates of Souls behind it. Monsters appear from the Gates, and the chains around the chests break. Red magic orbs with an orange flame in their centers rise from it and fly back to Cia, fusing with her. She gasps as they hit and doubles over, grasping her chest and grunting in pain.]

???: Excellent work, child. Three fragments of my spirit have been returned... The only piece that remains is the one trapped by the Master Sword...

[Orange magic surrounds Cia as she smoothly stands up straight, all pain seemingly forgotten. Her eyes glow orange and she laughs ominously. The cutscene ends.]

[Map cutscene starts, explaining what happened after.]

Cia had already claimed the Triforce of Power. From Link she stole the Triforce of Courage. The Triforce of Wisdom was the birthright of the royal family of Hyrule... yet Sheik bore it when Cia attacked. Once Cia possessed all pieces of the Triforce... she used its incredible power to bend time and space and open doorways through the ages. Portals to three eras appeared... Lana explained to the others that a Gate of Souls had been opened in each of these eras, and it was through these gates that the monsters came. By opening these gates, Cia had released the fragment of evil's spirit imprisoned in each of the other eras. The task before the heroes was threfore to travel through each portal and close its gate. Once all the gates were closed, they could begin repairing the damage that Cia had inflicted on their land. With time growing short, Link and his allies split up to handle all three gates simultaneously. They each vowed to close their gate and return safely.
